2. How we use cookies
We use first-party cookies only. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or fingerprinting. We group them into three purposes:
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to work or to keep your account safe: signing in, maintaining your session, confirming it is really you before a sensitive action, and remembering your cookie choice. These are always on.
- Functional — remember a preference you expressed, such as dark mode or which panels you collapsed. Nothing here tracks you or leaves this site.
- Analytics — help us measure usage and improve the product. These are set only after you accept in the cookie banner.
4. Things we keep in your browser that are not cookies
A few things are stored in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie. The difference matters: local storage is never sent to our servers. It stays on your device, and clearing your browser data removes it. None of it is used for analytics or advertising.
| Name | Purpose | Kept until |
|---|---|---|
| acj_postjob_draft | An unfinished job post, so closing the tab does not lose your work | You post it, or clear your browser data |
| aicj:draft:<conversation> | An unsent message draft in a conversation | You send it, or it expires |
| aicj:call:* | Your microphone, camera, speaker and volume choices for video calls | You change them, or clear your browser data |
| aicj:meeting-panel-height | How tall you dragged the meeting panel | You change it, or clear your browser data |
| aicj:clicked-links | Which links you have already opened, so they can be marked as read | You clear your browser data |
5. Managing your choices
When you first visit, our banner lets you choose Accept all or Essential only. Choosing essential only means no analytics cookie is set and no usage analytics are collected.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, which will bring the banner back. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though strictly necessary cookies are needed for login to work. Clearing site data also removes everything in the local-storage table above.
